Visions and objectives
The aim of development is to strengthen the position of Ski Park Ružomberok a.s. among the top tourist centres (TC) operated whole year round in the Slovak Republic. The local plan of Ski park area (LP SPA), was approved in March 2006, is the basis for intended development.
Development plan is based on three priorities:
- new ski trail from the lower CC station – ski trail Žľabiny with snowing, ski lift and artificial lighting for night skiing connected with the lower part of the current trail from Malinô Brdo to Hrabovo
- extension of the snowing in the area of the ski lift H 130 on Malinô Brdo
- extension of ski area to Suché Hrabovo (preparation of the territory)
Development plan is based on an active approach to the Ski Park and attracting investors (shareholder) as well as the cooperation with the owners of current and future accommodation facilities (AF) in implementing objectives that will increase visit rate of Malinô Brdo especially in summer season (e.g. renovation or construction of a new summer swimming pool below the hotel Malina).
In the following years we want to be engaged in these activities:
- Construction of arrival area in the lower CC station which is used as natural amphitheatre (cinema, concerts, cultural and social events, …)
- Construction of snowboard area – in stages
- Construction of a new chair lift for the new ski trail from Suché Hrabovo to the saddle of Malinô Brdo.
- Maintenance of tourist and cycling trails and paths to create the cross country ski circuits in the area of upper CC station, in Šimúnovo and around Sidorovo.
- Terrain development of the current forest path from Pod Halinami locality and Suché Hrabovo to arrival CC area to operate tourist toboggan run.
Local plan of Ski Park is a very demanding project due to its extent and without exaggeration it is possible to consider it a challenge for more generations. Its gradual implementation will be the source of prosperity but also of pride not only of inhabitants from Ružomberok and Liptov region.
