Vlkolínec
Village of Vlkolínec made completely of wood has been a memorial reservation of folk architecture since 1977 and in December 1993 it was entered into UNESCO Natural and Cultural Heritage List.
The first written notice dates back to 1376 as a street in the town of Ružomberok. It was established as the village of lumbar jacks or charcoal burners It is the only village in Slovakia that has not been spoilt with any new buildings. Wooden bell tower is a dominant feature of the village.
